Ingredients
  

Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Frosting
  • 1 cup heavy cream chilled
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Toppings
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
Prepare the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the chilled heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  2. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
Assemble the Cake
  1. Once the cake is cool, spread the whipped frosting evenly over the top.
  2. Arrange the sliced strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries on top to create a flag design.
  3. Slice and serve the cake.
