  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, pork, breadcrumbs, sautéed onion, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and allspice until well mixed.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs about one inch in diameter.
  3. Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides for about five minutes per batch.
  4. Remove the meatballs and add beef broth to the skillet; scrape up browned bits from the bottom. Stir in cream and simmer until slightly thickened for about five minutes.
