Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (chopped)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter, egg, and the foamy yeast mixture; stir until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter in a bowl; chop strawberries.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread with cinnamon mixture, and sprinkle chopped strawberries evenly.
  7. Roll tightly from one edge, slice into even pieces (about 12), and arrange them cut-side-up in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze before serving.
