Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1 packet (2.25 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt
  • Red gel food coloring
  • Blue gel food coloring
  • Star-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  3. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms; knead until smooth.
  4. Divide dough into three portions: leave one plain, tint one red, and one blue.
  5. Roll each portion into ropes about 12 inches long and twist into pretzel shapes.
  6. Place pretzels on prepared sheets; brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sea salt.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before adding sprinkles.
