- 6 slices thick-cut bacon (chopped)
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk or heavy cream
- 1 small onion (diced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix thawed hash browns with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Press the mixture into a greased pie dish to form the crust.
- Cook chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy (6-8 minutes), then drain on paper towels.
- In the same skillet, sauté diced onions until translucent (about 5 minutes) and set aside.
- Whisk together eggs, milk (or cream), salt, pepper, and half of the shredded cheese in a large bowl.
- Layer sautéed onions and crispy bacon over the hash brown crust, pour the egg mixture on top, then sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until puffed up and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm.
