  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix in olive oil, minced garlic, fresh herbs, and salt. Gradually stir in flour until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a round loaf. Place seam-side down on parchment paper.
  6. Let it rise again for 30-45 minutes while preheating the oven to 450°F (232°C). Transfer the loaf into the preheated Dutch oven and bake covered for 30 minutes; uncover and bake another 15 minutes until golden brown.
