Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 lbs chuck roast
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the roast on all sides until browned.

  4. While the beef cooks, mix flour, baking powder, salt, butter, and buttermilk until just combined. Bake until golden brown (12-15 minutes).
