Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups tart apples (peeled and diced)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk with active dry yeast and let it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). In another bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture and melted butter until fully combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- While the dough rises, peel and dice apples. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon with diced apples until evenly coated.
- After rising, punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle (1/2 inch thick). Spread melted butter over the surface and sprinkle apple filling evenly.
- Roll up tightly from one edge into a log shape, slice into equal pieces (about 1 inch thick), and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
- Cover again with plastic wrap and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
