  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Boil water in a large pot.
  2. Cook rotini pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in oil until translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet; cook until browned, draining excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir marinara sauce into the beef mixture along with cooked pasta. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. In a greased baking dish, layer half the pasta mixture and top with half of each cheese. Add remaining pasta mixture and top with remaining cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
