Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish, followed by half of the cream mixture and half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
