Freedom fries with dipping sauce are a mouthwatering take on the classic French fry, delivering a satisfying crunch and golden hue. These crispy delights are perfect for any occasion, whether you’re hosting a game night or enjoying a cozy evening at home. Paired with a creamy or zesty dipping sauce, these fries are easily customizable, making them an irresistible snack for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large russet potatoes (about 500g)
  • 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Prepare your potatoes by peeling (optional) and cutting them into uniform sticks, about half an inch thick.
  2. Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Drain and dry the soaked fries thoroughly before frying. Add them in batches to the hot oil and fry until golden brown for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove fries and drain on paper towels, then season immediately with salt, paprika, and garlic powder.
  6. Mix ketchup and mayonnaise in a bowl for your dipping sauce.
