  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  5. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine beef broth and soy sauce. Mix cornstarch with water until dissolved; stir into broth mixture and simmer until thickened.
  6. Add cooked meatballs to gravy and simmer for an additional five minutes before serving.
