  • 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the Russet potatoes thoroughly. Cut into uniform half-inch strips.
  2. Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  3. Drain and pat the potatoes dry with paper towels.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the potatoes in batches for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and season with salt immediately.
