With its vibrant red hue and irresistible flavor, it’s guaranteed to impress family and friends alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup pectin

Instructions

  1. Wash and pit the cherries.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine cherries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble.
  3. Add pectin and stir well to eliminate clumps.
  4. Pour in amaretto and simmer for five more minutes while stirring occasionally.
  5. Check consistency by placing a spoonful on a cold plate; if it holds its shape, it's ready.
  6. Ladle into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and allow to cool before storing.
