- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water and sugar in a bowl. Stir in yeast and let sit until foamy (about 5 minutes).
- Gradually mix in salt and flour until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Punch down the dough and divide into eight pieces. Roll into ropes and shape into pretzels.
- Boil water mixed with baking soda; dip each pretzel for about 30 seconds on each side.
